Why Dragon Ledger

What makes these courses different

Written for your decade

The 40s and 50s bring a specific set of tax questions — around MPF, property, pensions, and eventual retirement. Our courses address those directly rather than teaching general tax theory.

Clarity without oversimplification

Tax is genuinely complex. We explain it clearly without pretending it is simple — so you understand where your situation sits and what deserves a closer look.

No product sales attached

We do not sell financial products. The goal is informed understanding — so you can have a better conversation with your own accountant or adviser.

Hong Kong-specific content

Every example, every allowance, every form reference applies to the Hong Kong Inland Revenue system. No filler drawn from other jurisdictions.

Active learning structure

Participants leave the retirement planning course with a written tax map of their own situation — a document they can share with advisers and update over time.

Considered pace

Courses run over weeks rather than days. The subject warrants that time — and so does the reading, reflection, and discussion that produces genuine understanding.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who are these courses designed for?
Each course is written with Hong Kong residents in their 40s and 50s in mind — people who are salaried, may hold property, have MPF accounts building up, and are beginning to think seriously about retirement. You do not need a financial background; the courses assume only that you are capable of reading carefully and thinking about your own situation.
Do the courses provide personal tax advice?
No — and this is an important distinction. Dragon Ledger provides education about how the tax system works, not advice about your specific filing. The courses help you understand concepts and identify questions worth raising with your accountant or a qualified tax adviser. We do not review individual returns or provide personal recommendations.
How are the courses delivered?
Courses are delivered online in written format, with structured weekly modules. There are no live sessions to attend — materials are released on a schedule, giving you time to read, work through examples, and think before the next section arrives. Some courses include worked examples and exercises relevant to Hong Kong residents.
Which course should I start with?
If your income is entirely from Hong Kong employment and you want to understand your tax return, start with Hong Kong Tax Essentials. If you have assets or income abroad, the Cross-Border course addresses your situation directly. If retirement is ten to fifteen years away and you want to see the full picture — tax, MPF, property, and estate — the Tax-Aware Retirement Planning course covers all of that.
What is the time commitment each week?
Most participants spend two to three hours per week on reading and exercises. The materials are designed to be read carefully rather than consumed quickly — this is a subject where slowing down pays off. The schedule has been kept manageable for people who are working full-time.
Is there a refund policy?
If you find the first module is not what you expected, contact us within seven days of access and we will discuss your options. Please read our full terms on the Terms & Conditions page before enrolling.
